What do you think about the internet expanding to old commy countries like Bulgaria and Latvia with Transelvania being one of my favorites. But I would if your interested so let me kinow and thanks for the info that finally gave me the scratch to the itch. WHY? If youd like I will send pictures but right now I am not in the selling mode so camera is put away as I accumulate enough watches to drive my kids nuts. Each knife has its own serial number Knife measures 4 inches long Pocket watch features: American Pride pocket watch Intricately designed goldtone body Porcelain-like image of a deer on the front Includes a goldtone chain Watch measures 1. It runs well and is clean clean clean and in that I mean there is only one jewel left that is visible which drives me crazy with questions like. It was given some extra scroll work on the back movement and this looks very fancy and appealing and it hides the simpleness that is driving this model down the road. It looks like a cheaper version of the Burlington Special style. anyway I just got an Equity 16s 7j openface with numbers 79870 which match nothing that is Waltham like for this watch. If you have any specific questions, just add them to this thread.Ĭlick to expand.first off.thanks for taking the time to pass on what you know as it has been the answer I have been looking for for the last 2 hours- maybe more as we know how time can be swallowed up by the internet connection we find ourselves stumbling around in looking for something we want more info on but just cant seem to get enough to scratch our itch. Please verify the serial number on the movement (the "works"), not the case, and maybe we'll hear from someone who has studied these Equity watches more thoroughly.

I think it may be a hard one to find and might be worth restoring. The movement is marked with the 'J.G.' Lyre symbol logo (Julien Gallet) (see the photos.) I do not know that much about the movement. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened so far. I do not know if the watch will run, I cannot wind it. These watches are outside my area of interest, and like richiec, I hoped that someone with more specific knowledge would come along and fill you in. I saw your post yesterday but did not respond.

AFAIK, these watches were intended for domestic sale, but I do not know if any were exported. These are an interesting group of watches with a somewhat different style of plates than the regular Waltham production. The Equity Watch Co., Boston, name was used by Waltham to "disguise" the origin of of a lower-priced line of complete watches that they were offering in 12-size and 16-size, though some or all of the 16-size were actually a slightly larger 16-1/2 size. If you inadvertently dropped a digit somewhere in the serial number, your watch might fit into that run. Finleyfloater, have you had a chance to verify the serial number on your Equity watch? There was a run of Equity 16-1/2 size, 7-jewel watches with a serial number range 20653001 - 20658000.
